TAXABLE INCOME & FRINGE BENEFITS

Join us Thursday, June 21, 2018 with speaker Helen Hinton, CPP, to discus tax treatment of different compensation and benefit items.

What do you do when an employee wants you to explain the difference between a Paycheck City calculation and their current net pay? Are you comfortable re-calculating gross to net? How do you explain the tax treatment of different compensation and benefit items? How do you explain a gross up? Are all of your earnings and deduction codes set up correctly for tax purposes?

This session will provide you with the tools you need to answer these questions, including:

How to calculate taxable income

*Common income exclusions

*Valuation of fringe benefits

*Non-taxable fringe benefits

Differences between income tax, FICA and FUTA wages

*How to calculate payroll tax withholdings

*Utilizing withholding tax tables

*Supplemental withholding options

*Calculating gross ups
